Nurami Medical’s ArtiFascia® is a surgical patch for healing the Dura after neurosurgeries. ArtiFascia® is the first nanofiber-based patch that combines two functions: Its porous nanofiber structure provides a scaffold for Dura regeneration and faster healing. Additionally, the patch is integrated with a temperature-sensitive viscoelastic sealant that prevents CSF leakage and eliminates the need to apply a liquid sealant during surgery. ArtiFascia was tested in a pilot clinical study and was found safe and effective. Pivotal clinical study is ongoing.
NovaFibreX is a novel synthetic surgical adhesive and sealant for healing the digestive system after surgery. Internal leakages leads to poor recovery and is common in up to 30% of cases (for example, bariatric, hepato-biliary and pancreatic). Complications include infections, sepsis and abscesses, which lead to prolonged hospitalization and mortality rate of up to 3%. NovaFibreX™ withstands the harsh conditions that prevent rapid healing of the digestive system after surgery and will significantly reduce complications.
ArtiFixTM is comprised of electrospun fibers and a safe tissue adhesive polymer. The fibers provide a scaffold for a rapid tissue regeneration while the adhesive polymer provides robust tissue adhesion until tissue recovery is achieved. ArtiFixTM will be used as a Dural graft or a general soft tissue repair patch. ArtiFixTM will soon enter preclinical trials.
Founded in 2014 by experts in nanofibers and biomaterials, Dr. Amir Bahar and Nora Nseir, Nurami Medical is a clinical stage medical device company. The company develops innovative patches and sealants that are based on nanofibers and advanced materials to improve patient’s outcomes and enhance recovery after surgery.
The company’s first product, ArtiFascia®, is an innovative nanofiber-based patch for Dural repair after neurosurgeries. The patch combines a sealant to prevent CSF leakage and a porous scaffold to enhance regeneration and Dural healing. ArtiFascia® targets the $850 million Dural repair market, which is poised to reach $1.4 billion in 2025.
Our vision is to revolutionize the field of regenerative medicine by developing application-specific patches and surgical sealants, using unique combinations of nanofibers and functional biomaterials.
