ARTIFIX WILL REVOLUTIONIZE SOFT TISSUE CLOSURE PROCEDURES
Nurami Medical is developing ArtiFix®, a novel adhesive patch , which will adhere to tissues via an incorporated adhesive. ArtiFix® is designed to eliminate the need for sutures or the application of a liquid sealant onto the patch. This will save time, while providing an effective seal and closure for soft tissue surgeries. ArtiFix® is being developed to be used as a dural substitute, as well as for additional indications.
ArtiFix® will be composed of a fiber matrix, and an adhesive layer that incorporates a tissue reactive polymer. The fiber matrix will provide the required physical structure, mechanical strength and high contact surface area for optimal tissue ingrowth; while the adhesive layer will provide the necessary adherence in wet conditions until full tissue recovery is achieved.
ArtiFix’s® fibers will be prepared via an electrospinning technique. Nurami will incorporate bio-reactive polymers in the electrospinning process providing the necessary adhesive for this suture-free patch.
*ArtiFix® is for investigational use only
